What is Latisse®?
Latisse® is a FDA-approved prescription treatment designed to address hypotrichosis — a condition characterized by insufficient or sparse eyelashes. It promotes growth to make lashes appear fuller, longer, and darker.
Latisse® is the only FDA-approved prescription treatment clinically proven to enhance eyelash growth. Unlike over-the-counter products, it is available only through a prescription and is backed by scientific research.
How Latisse® Works
Apply Latisse® solution once daily to the base of the upper eyelashes as directed by your provider. Over time, noticeable results develop. You may begin to see increased lash length within four weeks, with full growth achieved after approximately 16 weeks. The changes are real — not an illusion — resulting in visibly enhanced eyelashes.
The active ingredient in Latisse® is bimatoprost. While the exact mechanism remains unclear, it is believed to work by prolonging the anagen (growth) phase of the eyelash hair cycle and increasing the number of lashes in this phase. This leads to enhanced growth, thickness, and pigmentation.
